Job Description

SecurityHeadhunter.com has been engaged to assist in identifying a difficult-to-find, deeply skilled, passionate about information security professional to join the corporate information security team of a global company. This role is designed for the combination of a white hat hacker, security researcher, security generalist, security engineer and computer forensics expert.


The Security Engineer will handle network intrusion monitoring, malware analysis, incident response, computer forensics and many other related activities. Additional responsibilities include: Systems installation, configuration and testing, wireless security, password cracking, security engineering, war-dial scanning, application testing, operating system hardening, penetration testing, risk assessments and more.


The candidate chosen for this role will demonstrate a passion for their chose career of information security combined with strong personal character and high personal integrity.


The Security Engineer will present investigation findings to a variety of audiences that could include internal audit, office of the Chief General Counsel, external legal bodies requesting subpoena response information and others. Travel up to 25% is possible and can be global in scope. When traveling to global locations, trips could be several weeks in duration. Outstanding training opportunities exist. This role is designed for someone who has chosen information security as a career because they are passionate about becoming an expert in many domains of subject matter expertise.


Job Requirements

· Requires 10 or more years of experience where a BA/BS degree is preferred. An advanced degree is desirable.

· Industry certification including the CISSP and/or GIAC certifications preferred.

· Candidates will demonstrate deep experience in the following areas:

o Deep and well-rounded information security knowledge;

o Very deep, in the weeds technical skills;

o Solid understanding of TCP/IP, common network protocols and services;

o Knowledge of various operating systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows);

o Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills, sound judgment and sound character;

o One who can work independently at times and also part of a closely-knit team at other times;

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

o Well-rounded understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, common security frameworks and overall best practices.

· Industry certification including the CISSP and/or GIAC certifications preferred.

· Strong candidates will demonstrate extensive knowledge of risks and threats, knowledge of vulnerabilities, malware, attack tools, attacker methodology, exploit techniques, security controls and countermeasures.

· Must demonstrate a deep understanding of critical security infrastructure and technologies to include: Digital certificates, packet capture and packet decode devices, VPN, IDS, IPS, HPIS, BIDS, firewalls, encryption, honeypots, etc.

Salary Range (Policy Analyst): $61K-$95K (negotiable)
Job Description (Policy): Expertise in developing Army policy and conducting studies in support of Army CAC/PKI. Analysis and Studies regarding Army’s needs as it relates to HSPD-12, DoD Policy, Certificate Management, Wireless policy, CAC issuance, Smart Cards, PKE of Applications, SIPRNET/Classified PKI policies and issues. Expertise in Army CAC/PKI objectives related to legislation, policy, procedures and programs. Writing, staffing and coordinating program-specific issues including plans, policies, papers, studies and standards. Build a strategic agenda for the Army to meet its CAC/PKI requirements and objectives. Provide liaison support with Human Resources Command (HRC), DEERS/RAPIDS. Evaluate and advist the GTL in regard to emerging developments as they relate to Defense, National and International Electronic Data Interchange standards, concepts, technologies and applications. Subject Matter Expertise in the following standards: X.509, Certificate Practice Statements, Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS201 and 140, National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) Special Publications (SP) 800-73, 800-78-1, and 800-79-1, and National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Policy (NISTISSP) No. 11.

Salary Range (RA): $50K-$85K (negotiable)
Job Description (RA/LRA): Expertise in Army PKI software-based certificate registration process. Training for RA/LRA through DISA RA Training. Verify the identity and information for each software certificate subscriber; issue software certificates; revoke software certificates; and add, modify or delete directory entries. Provide RA subject matter expertise for the RA Certificate Practice Statement (RACPS) and LRA CPS. Provide operational support to users in downloading and installing certificates. Manage the alternate smart card process for both SIPRNET and NIPRNET. Provide management and oversight for Army CAC PIN Reset (CPR) workstations.

FBI -- Senior Level Technical Forensic Advisor

The FBI has just posted a truly unique employment opportunity, applications for which must be received on-line no later than May 25, 2009.

The position is that of a Senior Level Technical Forensic Advisor whose primary duty it is to advise and assist FBI executives on all issues affecting the acquisition, preservation, examination, processing, presentation and storage of digital evidence in support of both the FBI’s criminal and national security investigations.

The individual filling this position serve as a key architect responsible for mapping the future course of the exploding field of digital evidence forensics, including traditional computer hard drive forensics, network forensics, remote forensics, mobile forensics (e.g., cellular telephones), device forensics (e.g. GPS devices) and more.

The selected candidate would report directly only to Senior Executives of the FBI. The salary range for the position is $117.787 to $162,900 per year.

The FBI currently manages a network of over 400 certified digital evidence forensic examiners located across the country in FBI Field Offices, Laboratories and at FBI Headquarters in the Metro-Washington, DC area.

The FBI also operates and administers the FBI Digital Evidence Laboratory in Quantico, VA and Linthicum, MD as well as 14 existing Regional Computer Forensic Laboratories (RCFLs) across the country in collaboration with other Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies, all of which have either been accredited by the American Society of Criminal Laboratory Directors – Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD-LAB) or are in the process of applying for the same.

Combined, these elements represent the world’s largest contingent of digital evidence forensic examiners operating under one central, validated, quality assurance system.
